Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FOA) On-line and multi-lingual database on a variety of topics from food supply and food aid, to agriculture production, trade indices and forestry data.

Luxembourg Income Study Investigates issues of poverty in 25 countries. Contains database of household income surveys and employment.

UN World Income Inequality Database (WIID) Has down-loadable database which contains data on intracountry inequality.

UNDP World Development Indicators Provides access to indicators in an on-line (HTML) or download-able format, in Excel or PDF format. Site also contains on-line and download-able versions of recent Human Development reports. Complete list of indicators;clicking on an indicator shows the world's ranking.

Carnegie Endowment for International Peace Their Library Page contains many links on international affairs, on topics ranging from peace and conflict resolution to business and the economy.

CountryWatch.com's Database Some information is readily accessible, other is restricted to paid subscribers.

Field Guide to the US Economy Site contains a Resource page that contains links to intereresting sources. Although their focus is on the United States, their resource pages contains some good international resources as well.

World Gazetter Provides information about current population of countries, their administrative divisions, cities and towns as well as images of the current national flags.

Demis World Map Server Web-based GIS applications that shows geographic information on a per-country basis.

Digital Atlas of the United States An online atlas that focuses on US issues. Contains many maps on topics of income, poverty, and race. Much of the data is from 1989-1990.

Export Statics Express GIS tool which provides detailed information about exports from the United States. It provides the ability to draw maps of: 1)Global Distribution of U.S. or a State's Exports 2) State-by-State Exports to a Selected Market and 3) Export Product Profile to a Selected Market.

The Geography Network Portal of information about GIS and on-line map-making. Includes links to other on-line atlases, including web-based interface GIS applications.

Economic Policy Institute US-based thinktank that performs research on sustainable economies and living standards of working people.
